WhoCalledMe is a UK-only service for people who have had an unknown, nuisance or suspicious call. Search a number, read what other people have reported, and decide whether to answer, block or report it.
We are not an old-fashioned phone book. We combine number lookup, community reports, simple risk information and practical safety advice for people in the United Kingdom.
What we help you answer
- Who might be calling me?
- Have other people reported this number?
- Should I answer, call back, block or report it?
What WhoCalledMe can tell you
- Whether a number looks like a UK mobile, landline, freephone or other type
- Community reports about scam, nuisance, silent or legitimate calls
- A risk score based on those reports — not a court finding
- Prefix and numbering-range information where we have it
- Guides on UK scams such as bank impersonation, HMRC and parcel fraud
What we cannot tell you
- The name of a private mobile owner — UK law does not allow a public directory of that kind
- Proof of who actually made a call — caller ID can be spoofed
- That a number with no reports is “safe”
- That a reported number belongs to a criminal
We use careful language on purpose. Reports are what people told us. They can be incomplete or wrong. Use them as a warning, not as a verdict.
Built for the UK
The service defaults to the United Kingdom, country code +44, and UK English. You should not need to pick a country. Examples and advice talk about HMRC, Royal Mail, the NHS, Ofcom, UK banks and UK mobiles — not overseas equivalents.
Who runs WhoCalledMe

Privacy first
You can search without creating an account. Searches are not shown on a public profile. If you report a number, do not include anyone’s full name, address, account numbers or one-time codes.
